Move Over Burt's Bees

It always amazes me how people are influenced by television advertising. Take the world of "natural apothecary" for example. Many young people living today think that Burt's Bees is the only "natural apothecary" line in America. They see Burt's television ads or slick magazine spreads, and "Bam!" their minds are instantly imprinted as if they had just come off the robot assembly line. Little do they know that this company is now owned by Clorox.
And that's not all they don't know. For most of today's under-40 crowd don't know, that since 1868, J.R. Watkins Natural Apothecary has been making environmentally friendly and health conscious products from renewable resources. All the while Watkins has also been avoiding the use of chemicals, animal by-products and parabens. The desire to grow green and maintain a strict purity philosophy has resulted in Watkins expanding its product lines in recent years to include a full line of home and beauty lines.

The most frequent question I get from new candiates considering the Watkins home-based business opportunity is, "How much money can I make with Watkins?" That's really an open-ended question, because there are many variables that will determine how much money you can make with any business opportunity. Over time I've come to learn that the most important determining factor is not a Watkins factor, but instead has to do with the mental and emotional framework of the individual (i.e., the associate).
The Watkins business opportunity is a legitimate home-based business option for anyone seeking extra income and wanting to own their own business. But most people are dreamers and talkers, never putting forth the effort it takes to become successful at any business they attempt. So I often answer the question, "How much money can I make with Watkins?" with a question of my own -- namely "What kind of person are you?" For example, "Are you self-motivated?" "Are you a self-starter?" "Can you commit 7 to 10 hours of part-t ime work per week to any business?" "Do your friends think of you as a winner or a quitter?"
